Regular box springs should be illegal
This thing is super cool! I mean lets be honest, what does a box spring do… occupy space, add some height and ventilation. So by it’s nature it is bulky but really not made of much. I did not expect it made sense to have an item like this shipped. Until I found this.Setup was super easy and did not take long at all. Also it came with a pretty slick tool, which was a nice surprise and very smart to include. I also think this is a lot nicer than the box springs I have seen in the past. We have had this in use for over 6 months now with no issues encountered. It has held up to my nightly performances and has not complained at all. Likewise I have no complaints. STOP SHIPPING BIG BULKY BOX SPRINGS AROUND THE GLOBE, as this has to be way smaller of a carbon footprint.

Way better than expected
Worth the cost. Very sturdy and solid. Highly recommended. Compared to store prices for quality it is one of the best.

A bit creaky when used as a bed frame
Full disclosure – this isnât on a bed frame. Iâm using this on the floor directly as a bed base right now for my infant, rather than putting the bed directly on the floor Montessori style. Itâs low enough for now and we have the option of adding it to his convertible crib later to make a proper bed when heâs older.Itâs easy to assemble and looks good to me, but I notice if Iâm right in the middle and rocking side to side that it creaks. We did put floor pads on the bottom to protect the hardwood so that may be it, but putting this as a warning for anyone else using it to replace a Montessori style floor bed. It would probably work better on carpet of with a non slip bottom instead of the floor protector pads that are thick.

It was easy to put together. Have only been in place for a couple days.

Easy to assemble. Velcro attached slats are a nice touch. Older video reviews and product images show a zippered full enclosure for box spring, but mine is just a elastic based cover that is open on the bottom – like a fitted mattress cover. The real problem is that I have a bed frame that is fully open in the middle with no cross beams in the middle for support. The center beam of this box spring did not rest on anything and started to sag with only one adult on the 14″ foam mattress on top of this box spring. It is not the strongest material/construction and only fastened to the end beams by 2 small bolts. I had to buy a pair of mini screw jacks 6-9″ from Amazon and place them under the center beam so that it’d remain straight under load. Looks OK now, time will tell if this works out long term. Check this out as you might be in the same boat.

I was worried buying this originally because Iâve only had all wood box springs. But this seems to do the job and was super easy to put together by myself. Seems sturdy and holds more weight than some of the other metal ones Iâve researched .

Was a little nervous about assembling a box spring/ foundation, but this one was simple to put together and saved hundreds of dollars. I purchased the King size option and it is exactly what we needed.

I purchased the 9″ king version of this 4 years ago and I loved the fact that it is super easy to assemble, the frame seems sturdy, and the slats have less than three inch gaps as foam mattresses require. I do remember being concerned though because the slats are less than 1/2″ thick and they have to span a 35.5″ gap between the edge supports and the center support. When you press down on them lightly, they flex a lot. At the time, I just unfolded a brand new Casper Classic on it and quickly forgot about it.Some time passed and I started getting backaches and the mattress was sagging. This was not expected from the mattress since I have owned the same mattress before and it lasted many years on a different foundation. I tried rotating the mattress. Another few months later backaches again. I started moving around the bed trying to find a spot where I could get support. Right in the middle was best. I suffered with it for too long and finally decided that it had to be the foundation. Sure enough, the sagging was worse half way between the center and the edge supports and the slats push way down with little effort.I did some research trying to find a better foundation and just couldn’t. I thought about plywood, but that would stop ventilation and would also sag over time. Finally, I decided to modify one of these to work. My wife wanted a lower profile foundation so I purchased ANOTHER one of these in the 7.5″ version along with two 1 x 8 boards that I cut to fit and screwed into the truss supports that were right in the center of the unsupported section. In the photo attached you can see the modified foundation with the old 9″ unmodified version behind it. I don’t know why the manufacturer couldn’t add two more truss supports like the one in the center to make this an awesome product.
