First of all, it’s actual wood, top to bottom. Really pretty. It came in a heavy flat package. It was carefully wrapped to not mar anything. 6 pictures showed the entire process, and it was really simple and fast. Well put together and quality handles and casters. The dropleaf hardware and such were already put together, so no complications there. It looks wonderful in the kitchen, rolls (and locks) nicely, the dropleaf is large enough to open and put a chair there and eat breakfast (I have a small kitchen). Very few things exceed your expectations, this one did.

Very nice but needs better wheels
Assembly was straightforward and itâs a very solid piece of furniture. However the wheels are garbage. The hole for the caster was cut too big and makes for a sloppy fit. The wheels seem to want to pop out as youâre moving it along. We had to take them off and will try to manufacture something to hold them in tighter. If it wasnât for the wheel issue I would give this 5 stars.

Excellent!
When I looked at this, I thought, “pressboard.” … but, I was completely wrong!! It’s mostly solid beechwood, except for the 3 bottom panels that make up the closed cabinet at the bottom. Once assembled, it’s incredibly sturdy. I’ve been using this in the kitchen as a movable island for about a year and it’s quite perfect. The locking casters actually lock. The drawer and the doors to the cabinet are solid beechwood. No issues with sturdiness despite it being relocated almost daily. The leaves continue to work as designed, despite being a relatively unique design. Very happy with it – well worth the $$$.

I was really impressed with the quality of this product. It is not just pressed board, it is actual wood pieces. Very easy to assemble, it took 2 people about 45 mins once we confirmed all the pieces were accounted for.

Solid wood – All of it!!
I have a small kitchen space so I bought this for my dehydrator. Love this kitchen cart! The main counter is the perfect fit for my large dehydrator. The drop leaves make it smaller to fit in smaller spaces, yet give me the option of more working space. The wheels are lockable and allow me to move the heavy dehydrator where ever I want it!! Cupboard space on bottom fits my Pampered Chef Quick Cooker and still room for a few other things. Shelf space has room for cook books or smaller items to store. The drawer Awesome! All around this was the perfect choice for me. Made out of solid wood! Everything is, there is no composite boards anywhere on it. I put it together myself, took a couple of hours. Hardest part was the shelf insert, but a little bit of creative thinking and it worked out just as good as 4 hands. 5 Star. Love it.

The box on arrival was scary to look at, and I expected it would take a long time to assemble, especially as I unloaded the many pieces. THEN…out came the parts and screw box. WOW…not much in there! Looking at the various wood components, I was shocked to see that many of the pieces had been preassembled with smaller components. The only thing I had to do was wrestle the pieces into place, insert and tighten screws! Amazing! The whole system came together and was completed in 35 minutes by myself. It probably would have taken a lot longer if I had relied on the included hex driver, but I used a small drill with the appropriately sized hex insert.Not a scratch or misaligned part anywhere on the cart. Everything came together extremely smoothly, and while some pieces were not marked with part numbers, the easy-to-follow illustrations clearly delineated the parts for easy recognition.The cart itself is beautiful and fits in our kitchen very well, while really standing out aesthetically. The drawer and lower doors operate very smoothly. The wheels simply glide and the brakes hold well. The wheels were able to be installed without any help, just a little body weight pushing them in.I don’t have the right words for how pleased I am with this purchase and the value for the low, extremely reasonable price. Absolutely exceptional, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to buy again if it was accidentally damaged or destroyed.I give it my HIGHEST recommendation. Look no further, you have found “IT”! A+++UPDATE MAY 2019I have now been actively using the Cart for nearly six months and it is still absolutely perfect. It has been a godsend for our kitchen and gets literally daily use. Perfect design and construction is holding as it was as new.Reiterating my STRONG Five Star recommendation. This cart is the bomb!UPDATE NOVEMBER 2019Now a year later I am still in love with this cart! I use it daily and run it through many torture tests. It remains like new and I couldn’t be more pleased. This this is FREAKING AWESOME. I’m big into cooking, like, I loooooove cooking all the time and this cart made my life so much easier.The Short version:Almost perfect height for me! (5’9). It’s about an inch below my waist, so I just have to extend my arms slightly longer than what feels perfect. I don’t know/think if it’ll work for taller people to be honest. but for me, It’s almost perfect.Assembly was pretty easy with two, but you need two people or a lot of creativity with one. Nice and sturdy, awesome storage below. Locking wheels make sturdy prep and chopping. Lots of counter space when extended, compact for storage when folded.The long version:This cart literally changed my life. I’m in a 1 br apt, and I felt like the kitchen was cramped, this cart solved all of my issues. Now my microwave has a counter top, and this cart allows me to still prep and cook! I use the middle shelf for my cutting board and ramekins, and below I have 4 pots, a manual mandoline slicer, a freaking food processor (just the container not the whole thing) and there’s STILL MORE ROOM. The storage space in the bottom section baffles me with how much it can hold.The collapsible wings are AMAZING. I don’t quite know the limitations of it because it doesn’t say how much weight the wings can hold so I’ve gone conservative with what I’m putting on there. (literally the only down side but I’m still giving 5 stars because of how awesome this thing is.) this thing expands to a fantastic length that I use for mies en plas. (although I avoid raw meat prep on it because wood) Last night I was able to get all of my ingredients and a cutting board on this thing with both wings expanded, then folded it up and tucked it out of the way to make the most of my space. I have used this every day since I got it and I’m never going back.

This little island/cart is gorgeous. Purchased the Winsome Wood Drop-Leaf Kitchen Cart for a stand-alone, movable storage in my kitchen. Received in perfect condition, no scratches or damage, all parts in box (taped to bottom in separate box), instructions were ok, grade B, not very hard to put together. It is heavy, it is solid, the doors close soft, the drawer base might need some beefing up if storing heavier items in the drawer. The drawer slides well. Wheels roll smoothly, lock well. The drop leaf sections open and fold without issue. Very pleased with this brand, they make good things.

I took off the side wings for my needs. I am using this to hold a bird cage and the dimensions of this worked perfectly for my needs. It was super easy to remove the leaves/wings….with unscrewing 3 screws from each side (the top and sides come pre-assembled in the box) . Nothing shows visually as it was hinged from the underside. Later if I ever need the wings, I can return them without any problems. I set this up myself and it took about 1.5 hrs. Directions were clear and assembly was straight forward. (I am a 60yr old female). Most of the pieces were marked and the few that were not….were pretty obvious from the included part-sheet what they were. Everything is SOLID, heavy wood…..except for the back and 2 side panels as well as the drawer bottom. Those are MDF veneered panels. My only real negative is that the panels I received don’t color match well with my cart…(see photos) but otherwise, I am very impressed with this purchase! I did contact customer service and they are trying to work w/me. You will not regret buying this….it is refreshing to see real wood being used in a product. I love the storage cabinets (they have nice magnetic closures), they lined up well and the drawer is a good practical size. The handles are also very nice quality. They didn’t skimp on the details and even included the little wooden pegs to tap into the screw holes. This will be a functional as well as beautiful piece in your home!UPDATE: After a handful of emails with the company (Winsome Wood) they did not have an option to send better color matching panels (she tried). They also had no ability to price adjust and suggested I contact Amazon directly. Amazon was willing to initiate a return….but frankly, I really do like the cart…I am .just disappointed in the poor color matching between the real wood and the MDF panels. Amazon stepped up and made an exception and was willing to give me a small credit for the defect. I reluctantly changed my 5* to 4* as this could be an important detail to you as well. In the meantime, Amazon gets a 5* for their customer service!

I love everything about this product. The packaging was amazing. The instructions are clear. This cart is heavy duty, and extremely well made. It is a versatile piece for a variety of uses, especially in a kitchen. This is the second one I have purchased. It holds up perfectly over time in my kitchen. Cleans easily. It gets a lot of use over a couple of years, and still looks brand new.
