I purchased these 28″ Rockville stands for a new pair of Klipsch RM-40 speakers used in the family room. The first nice thing was their early arrival, a day before they were expected. The stands are well packed and everything you need (other than a tool) is included in the box. Rockville even provides a video link demonstrating the stand assembly. I experienced no issues getting all the mounting holes to properly line up, and I had the stands fully assembled in under 30 minutes. The only tool you will need is a Phillips-head screwdriver. The stands’ hollow center towers accept sand or lead shot to add extra weight and stability. The plastic bags used to pack the stands are perfect for lining the towers for this purpose. I added about 10 pounds of play sand to each stand, and even though the stands are extremely sturdy on their own, this added an extra level of solidity to them. This is advisable if you have pets of small kids, to prevent any mishaps if they bump one.NOTE: A TIP ON SAND: if you decide to add sand in the plastic bags, be advised that the tower plastic bags each have two small holes on the closed end of the bag, apparently as air vents, one on each side. I put a small piece of duct tape over each one to keep the sand from leaking in the towers. I recommend doing this, as well as tying the bag at the top before installing the top shelf. Also, it’s easier to add the sand after shoving the bag into the top of the tower *first*, then letting the bag drop to the bottom by adding more sand. Two top shelves for the speakers are provided. I chose to use the larger even though the Klipsch speakers would have fit the smaller shelf with room on each side.Once fully assembled, these stands are rock-solid and look great in my family room. The black shelves and front of the towers go well with the black cabinets of the speakers, and the wood grain sides of the towers go perfectly with the wood floors and furniture in our family room.Best of all, the speakers sound great, with a nice response across the spectrum.Considering the high cost of some stands, these Rockville’s are a great value.

I got these to put my Polk es20s on. Chose them for several reasons, mainly because they have 2 different sizes of top plates. The es20 is a large speaker and fairly heavy so I used the larger one. Also, the 2 tone wood and black design compliments many speaker colors and rooms. The wood color didnât quite match my walnut colored speaker cabinet, but the black front facing panel did match the grills and front baffles so they actually look quite nice. I used wood glue on all mating surfaces during assembly. You probably donât need to, but I had the glue on hand so why not. I filled them with kitty litter during assembly also (didnât have any sand available). I also upgraded the fasteners to stainless steel screws. I always keep some around because the fasteners included in a lot of products seem to be the most criticized component. Poor quality fasteners can greatly complicate an otherwise straightforward assembly. So for 2 or 3 dollars you can make your life easier and get a better finished product. This is not a knock on the included hardware. I never even took them out of the package, so I donât know how they would have been. The end result is a solid, acoustically inert and attractive piece. I highly recommend them. Keep in mind that if you glue them together you wonât be able to take them apart again. Get yourself some good fasteners (thank me later).

Great stands, no issues. I’m using them to support some old Pinnacle PN8+ speakers and the styling of the stands goes great with these. The holes are pre-drilled and then the cover material is applied, covering the holes. It’s not a big deal, just run your fingers across the base and top shelf to find the holes and press in a little to make an indentation. I didn’t bother cutting or opening the material, just poked the screws through the center of my indentation and assembled them. No problems.Notes regarding some other reviews:As mentioned by someone else I used the bag the stand came in to hold the sand. Tape off the holes at the bottom, work the empty bag into the base and carefully pour sand into the bag. Tie off the top and then put the top speaker plate on.Another review mentioned that the pre-drilled holes in the base were counter sunk too far. Unless his was a goof from the factory, I measured about 3/8″ which is plenty to secure the column to this base.In all these are very nice looking stands for the price. My speakers weight 36 lbs each and these stands are supporting them with no issues.

Overall I’m generally happy with these stands. I bought these specifically for the large top “plate” option that they offer. I have full sized bookshelf speakers (6 1/2″ woofers) and wanted to make sure the top plate was bigger than the speaker’s footprint and they are. Most speaker stands are made for smaller surround sound speakers, so really happy I found these. I also got lucky that the “wood” tone is a pretty close match for my TV stand, so the black and wood matches really well with my stand and speakers..Extra bonus points for how well boxed the stands are. They come double boxed with the inner box protected and separated by Styrofoam corners. All of the parts come boxed or bagged inside the inner box, so these things will survive the most careless packaging handling without a nick, scratch, or dent. Also like they have the option to put sand or other weighted material in to the main posts to up the stability factor (a nice touch for people with big speakers like me)..One thing I didn’t like, the black covering for the top / bottom plates is just colored paper and it’s very thin. I was pretty shocked during assembly when you have to push the screws through the paper and you realize just how thin it is. If they were in an environment where I was worried about the speakers or stands getting knocked over, I would be very concerned about this covering getting a tear and starting to peel. I’m assuming the black and wood grain covering on the main post is this same thin paper, so not sure how long they are going to last..TL/DR:5 stars – Sturdy packaging, top “plate” size options, ability to add sand to increase stability, colors matched TV stand and speakers.- 1 stars – Covering on the various pieces is very thin paper, not paint, not veneer / laminate so have concerns about how long they will last, especially after initial damage happens.
