In a difficult situation, the loss of work efficiency means your unemployment rate is also rising. This is scary, isn't it?

Great Buy for the Price
Barrister Storage Rack. Holds around 500 DVDs estimation. Comes with extra shelves for CDs, etc. and an anchor for the wall, which I did not use. It has some movement when first set up, but becomes quite sturdy after filling with DVDs, I am not worried about it tipping over. Looks really good for the price, and more importantly, it actually fits all of my movies. No damage during shipping, but it is press board and can be fragile if dropped or you put a nail through the wrong spot. Directions were fairly simple to follow along and only required a screwdriver and hammer.

Really annoying having to clean the general structure (shelves didn’t need …
This is the 2nd one of these I’ve had, the first being from 5+ years ago, and in both cases, the pieces were covered in essentially sawdust. Really annoying having to clean the general structure (shelves didn’t need it, though some weren’t in the greatest condition. You get more than you need if you’re not setting up a purely CD rack anyways) while setting it up. Took much longer to put together because of it. Nevertheless I do really like the shelving unit which I use for DVDs and Blu-rays since you can pick what spacing to use for the shelves and they work quite well for solely Blu-rays or both Blu-rays and DVDs and the finish looks good.

Perfect for Car show case
Ordered this to place my husbands car collection neatly on display. It fit all his cars perfectly on the shelves; cars are in clear display cases. Was fairly straight forward and simple for one person to put together. I did help him stand it up as he had it on the pool table to assemble. Impressed with product, overall its good!

The perfect media shelf
If you have mangas, dvds, cds, video games, or other smaller sized books this shelf is perfect. Itâs huge so it fits a lot, not too tall so doesnât become top heavy too easily, plenty of shelves, and looks great. Iâve bought it twice now, still very happy!

Works and looks great, easy to assimble
I set this up by myself, easy to put together. looks nice, used it for CD, DVD, and Blu-ray. Great product, just have to be really careful putting the back pieces on as the nails that hold the backing can miss the wood part and go through or split the wood.

Good shelf but dusty pieces.
Open the box in your garage. There was a ton of sawdust over everything. They look like they weren’t dusted before they were packaged.

I still haven’t transitioned to the streaming lifestyle yet. What can I say? I still love the physical media platform, and have a lot of different kinds. From DVDs, CD’s Blu-Rays, NES, SNES, N64, PS2, PS3, and so forth. This Media tower was perfect for my needs. It has adjustable shelves to fit all the various media types and sizes, and can definitely hold a large amount of items!Pros:- Adjustable shelving to accommodate various media- Triple wide design for mass storage- Looks great- Sturdy enough MDF frame and shelvesCons:- Shelve bottoms not painted, so you can see the MDF underside, if you look closely, but non-issue for me- Still not the absolute best in quality, but… a fraction of the price of those optionsOverall this met all my needs for a media storage solution in its size, flexible shelving, and build quality. Don’t expect the same quality of solid wood custom furniture, but for the price, this is a great solution, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again. Solid 5 stars.

Love how well it suits my purpose, just purchased a second one. I suggest you have a mallet handy. If you’re looking for storage for your books and don’t want to double or triple stack them because of how deep the shelves are then this is a great addition to your home.

The Prepac media rack seems to be mainly intended for storing a variety of types of media together (CDs, DVDs, BluRay discs) but I bought it for CD storage exclusively. My CD collection had outgrown the rack I’d been using for several years and after making do with boxes full of CDs in one corner of the house or another, I finally decided that the only way to enjoy my collection to its fullest was to have all of the CDs accessible on a proper rack. The Prepac Triple Barrister was straightforward to assemble and is reasonably sturdy (although the assembly kit wisely includes extra materials to anchor the top of unit to the wall in case of an earthquake or other disaster.) The individual shelves are solid and do not bow due to the weight of the CDs, which is a problem I’ve seen in other racks, and the overall look is sleek and attractive. However, when I first put the Prepac rack together I was in for a few surprises. My old rack had provided 10 rows of CD storage and was several inches narrower as well as a few inches shorter than the Prepac, yet when I’d finished building the Prepac and installed the rows of shelves I was dismayed to discover that I could only go as high as nine rows of CDs — one less than my old rack. Yes, the Prepac was about seven inches taller than my old one, but I soon realized that the lack of a tenth row was due to the wider spacing between the rows as well as the addition of wood mouldings along the top. The mouldings blocked the upper third of what would could have been a tenth row of CDs, making it impossible to use that row to store anything. This threw me off. The increase in net capacity that I’d wanted from buying a bigger rack seemed like it might be pretty much negated!I soon realized, though, that to get back to ten rows of storage and actually accommodate more CDs than I had before, I could just remove the top mouldings. (They are purely decorative so removing them does not make the rack unstable.) This got me back to the same ten rows of storage as my old rack, which was not a net gain in that regard, but because the Prepac was also wider than my old rack I still was able to store another 350 or so CDs.Other notes about the Prepac:a) There are additional mouldings going up the front of the rack. Due to the way the unit is designed these cover the ends of the rows of shelves, to the point that if you fill each shelf completely from sidewall to sidewall then two or three CDs end up being hidden behind the mouldings at either end. This leads to an important decision, because if you want to actually be able to see all of the items on a particular shelf then you have to avoid placing them behind the mouldings, thereby sacrificing some of the unit’s capacity. Since there are 30 individual shelves with two ends each, that amounts to at least 120 fewer CDs that can be stored! And since the vertical mouldings appear to add stability to the unit I felt that removing them would be a bad idea.b) The underside of the large flat piece that crowns the unit is unfinished. This means that if you view the rack from a lower angle (like when you’re seated on a couch in the same room) the unfinished brown wood is quite noticeable. The bottoms of the adjustable shelves are also unfinished. To take care of this I bought some eggshell-finish black acrylic paint at the hardware store and painted the underside of the top piece as well as the bottoms of the first three rows of adjustable shelves. (Once the remaining shelves are installed they are low enough on the unit that you rarely get a look at their undersides.)c) The black finish used on the main frame of the Prepac is easily scratched since it appears to be black paper that’s glued to the wood. The installation kit includes a black marker pen for touchups but the surface is a bit more delicate than I would have liked. Thankfully, the surfaces of the individual shelves are painted so their finish is more durable. So, not a perfect media storage unit but for the price it is certainly good enough to earn four stars. Amazon’s delivery gets five stars because they got it to me much sooner than expected.

I really love my media organizer. I had bought this for all our games, dvds, and bluerays. Wasn’t quite happy that the shelfs don’t rest all the way back. But, that is not needed for the disc cases. I love how it flows nicely in our house with our other furniture. Definitely easy to assembly as well. We love ours and use it every day.

I’m very pleased with these shelves, especially since DVD shelves are harder and harder to find. (Keep your physical media folks! Digital files can be taken away at any time! No one is streaming Cabin in the Woods and it’s October!) I used to have the Sauder Multimedia Storage Tower, which fit about 280 DVDs, and which my collection had outgrown. The issue with those shelves (although otherwise nice!) is that they were about three feet across and, when fully loaded with DVDs, bowed a bit in the middle. These shelves fix that issue by being shorter and having the two supporting columns in the middle. For particle board, this looks quite nice. Delivery was no problem (only the tiniest of scratches on one or two corners), and the usual issues of trying to nail in the back cover without missing the supports, which is true for all shelving of this type. Ideally, I would like the bottom to have a touch more of a lip for stability. The shelves do come with an anchor for the wall, which is great, but I may supplement that with earthquake straps (both for stability and quakes).A couple of tips and tricks to the wise: as already mentioned, it does help to put a blank case tucked in behind the columns so that you can see all of your titles. Doing that, I seem to be averaging about 27 DVDs/Blu-rays per shelf, and I can get in 6 shelves per column, plus one extra smaller one (that would work for blu-rays only). This is in part because I put the bottom shelf one row taller to accommodate larger box sets. With that arrangement, these shelves would fit about 500 DVDs, depending on your box set configurations (plus those three extra smaller spaces you could do something else with.)A final note on construction: the little plastic dowels don’t fit in as easily as the wooden ones do, but just keep at them and they do eventually go all the way half in as needed. That said, if you construct it yourself (as I did), you probably will need some pain killers and tiger balm afterwards. I am SORE. But worth it! This really is much nicer construction than other similar shelving I’ve seen, and I’ve already received several compliments on them.
