Tough, good looking, good price.
I bought this for my son and we had a blast putting it together, together. It is nice and sturdy with easy sliding drawers (We were replacing a dressed made in 1969, the drawer just slid on a piece of wood… splinters!) and definitely looks good. The manufacturer included a touch up pen to deal with scratches and the like, but the finish has been sturdy enough we have not needed it.

Awesome little dresser
Although this took my little self FOREVER to put together, it looks amazing in my walk-in closet. It’s perfect for smaller spaces. The drawers are a little on the small side but with all six, I managed to fit everything in perfectly. It is a very heavy dresser but worth the small price tag!

Waste of money
I purchased this dresser for my nursery, none of the pieces were marked so it was a three hour guessing game of how to put it together. The pictures are not a good representation of what this dresser is actually like. I wish I would have spent a little bit more money and got something nice. The drawers are small and not spacious. I wouldnât recommend this product for a nursery.

Disappointing
Looks good at first glance but is severely lacking in quality. Material is particle board. It comes with a black touch up marker, which you will definitely need. Drawers are not evenly spaced (as you can see from the drawers on the right side of the picture). Last drawer we assembled had a major problem – the grooves on the drawer sides did not line up with the groove on the back piece, so when we slid the bottom of the drawer in it did not fit properly.

This is exactly what it’s priced to be … it’s a cheap chest of drawers.
On the good side…
It was fairly easy to put together… lots of pieces though. I have it in the back of my dining room office and plan to load it up with my supplies and some odd cords and adaptors needed for my computer work. I have my modem, router and printer on top and it looks really nice.
On the not so good side …
Please note that this piece of furniture stands on the bottom of it’s sides. If your floor is uneven or you have even medium pile carpet it could be a real tip-over risk, especially around small children. (Rather ironic for a kids dresser.) I overcame this problem by placing small blocks of wood at each corner and one under the center panel to act as very short legs. This makes it far more stable on my carpeted floors.
I strongly recommend that Prepac add legs to this item as soon as possible.
Also the drawer bottoms are pressboard so don’t count on putting much heavy stuff in them. They’ll be ok for things like pens and pencils, computer gadgets, or light clothing, I wouldn’t recommend hiding your gold bricks in them however.
You can probably make this chest of drawers a fair bit stronger by adding wood glue to all the joints as you build. I normally ad a little stripe as I assemble furniture, to prevent it from eventually becoming wobbly…. so far so good.
I like this chest ok… but had I known about the tipping problem I would have bought something else.

So far I am happy with this purchase. Very sturdy, clean, and compliments my daughters room very well. The only con⦠the assembly. Be prepared to spend at least a few hours putting this thing together. By no means it is hard and does not require a construction background but it can take a few hours, especially if you are doing this by yourself and do not have an extra set of hands. If I could go back and do this assembly again I definitely would have someone assist as there are a lot of screws and pieces (especially for the drawers) that need to be repeated over and over 6 identical drawers, each having about 6-8 pieces each, which can be time consuming. Iâd also recommend having a power drill for the installation, as a lot of time was spent putting in screws by hand, this could have saved me half the time if I had used power tools. That aside Iâm very happy with the product and it was worth the price.

We moved into an apartment and wanted all matching black laquer furniture pieces to go with our bed frame. I bought all Black Sonoma designs, 2 of the condo size 6 drawer dressers, a 2 drawer nightstand, and the 6 drawer chest. Each took a little time to build, but after you build one each successive one becomes easier and simpler to put together. For the price we paid this furniture looks great, came with all the pieces, had good instructions and is exactly what we needed. It is not as flimsy as some of the reviews had indicated, the drawers are plenty solid enough. It is a painted laminate on top of particleboard, so we understand it’s not real durable but we are very careful. It gives the room such a clean modern look.

This is the second purchase I’ve made in the Sonoma line of this furniture. I bought the tall six-drawer earlier. It went together easily because I’m very visual, and able to turn the pictures into actions. If you’re not visual you may have a harder time of it but for me it was about an hour’s work (given that I’d just done another of these).
That being said this is a very nice dresser for the money. It arrived early and intact despite the delivery being basically tossing it onto my front porch (75lbs!). Finish is beautiful and it felt pretty solid when done. Drawers are in-between the tall six (small) and the normal sized dresser (large). Slides work smoothly but are far from full extension. Still, works for what I needed it for.

This dresser looks good, is built good, and gets the job done. I was missing a couple of parts, but the manufacturer has a section on their website where you can order replacement parts for free without having to deal with any customer service reps. It was a great experience, and I recommend this product. Assembly was time consuming but rather simple. I recommend using a drill.

 I donât think I would buy a product like this again to build from scratch. For one none of the pieces are labeled (which wouldâve been a big help throughout the process), however it does tell you which piece is what in the instructions so you could label it yourself.
Secondly, the hard part was the gliders and making sure they were installed properly before building the entire dresser. It took us a good two hours to figure out the gliders and which way they needed to go.
We tried looking on YouTube for a video to better show the installation process but that was very limited. Once you figure out the gliders and making sure the drawers will slide in easily then everything is smooth from there.
The end result was okay. The drawers didnât line up properly, one side is hard to pull out then the other side. The drawers are very crooked but when building the dresser, the only way the drawers worked is the way we did it.
Make sure you read your instructions and I suggest labeling your parts to make things more easier! There is a video on YouTube about the gliders and helping you install it which helped slightly. Next time Iâll just pay the extra fees for it to be installed ð¤·ð¼ââï¸
Sturdiness is not bad, it is pretty sturdy. Value for money eehhh, could be better, & assembling process whewwwwâ¦.. took us a minute lol so be prepared unless your bob the builder ð¤£ð¤£
