Good quality metal file cabinet. The drawers slide smoothly and the interior rods can easily be adjusted to accomodate either legal or standard files. The cabinet can lock, if needed. Also, you can pull out only one drawer at a time so you don’t run the risk of the cabinet falling over on you. Maybe that’s standard in the filing cabinet industry, but at least you get that feature in this unit.The cabinet was also carefully wrapped, with thick slabs of cardboard used to reinforce ALL edges, plus front and back. Then the unit was generously wrapped in clear plastic. I’m sure this was done by the seller and not the trucking company. The delivery company, National Delivery Systems, showed up within three days (factor in a Sunday and a major holiday), which amazed me. I had ordered the cabinet that Saturday night and didn’t expect it for about two weeks!The delivery guy, who was very pleasant, had the cabinet securely strapped down in his tidy truck. He said he loaded it himself and that cabinet weighs about 200 lbs., according to the bill of lading!This file cabinet now sits in my office without one scratch or dent. I can’t believe such a heavy and awkward metal cabinet arrived in perfect condition. It was a positive experience all around. Great job by everyone in getting this unit to me! Thank you!

I had several banker’s boxes full of misc. stuff and bought this filing cabinet to store it all. I didn’t know how I would divide the space inside each drawer to keep things semi-organized rather than just have everything in one big pile. Then I realized that I could just put the banker’s boxes in the drawers, and 3 fit perfectly in each drawer with a little extra space left over. I didn’t even have to unpack all the boxes; I just slipped them into the file drawers. The filing cabinet is well-built, and arrived without a scratch. The fact that the banker’s boxes fit into the drawers perfectly was an unexpected bonus.

I bought this file cabinet thinking I would finally have all of my residential filing needs fulfilled for years to come. The price tag certainly seemed to indicate I would be getting a quality product, right? I was very wrong. The first indication I had was in the delivery. The seller did not bother to tell the shipping company that this was to be delivered to a residence, someone that had no dock (!!). The shipping company sent a full blown semi trailer down my (somewhat narrow) street. The driver and I had to wrestle this monster off of the edge of the truck, kinda seemed like one of us might get crushed in the process but we made it. Getting it inside and set up was the next area that I had a gripe about. I noticed that, for all its heft, it is a FLIMSY unit. I have a pair of 40 dollar small black filing cabinets from Target that are probably stouter than this thing. Every time I open a drawer, it resonates with that annoying flappy clanky metal sound, and every time I close it, it never seats back into place well. The final nail in the coffin, though, has to do with the rails. Each drawer comes with two rails. The cutout hole on the sheet metal sides of the drawers is a mirror image between the “deeper” rail hole and the “shallower” rail hole, which by itself wouldn’t have been a problem had the rails come “keyed” (little notches cut to match the holes, to keep the rails in place) to match the holes. However, the rails are all keyed the same way, which means that the “shallower” rail (the one closer to the front face of the drawer) has no protection against it drifting in and out of place within the drawer. Imagine opening up your filing cabinet to find all of your carefully organized paperwork is all strewn about the place after one of the rails falls out. EACH DRAWER is like that. I am incredibly disappointed in this unit, I wish I would have sprung for a more quality product than this thing. At least it looks nice.

Good product. Its a 4-tier lateral cabinet with a lock that works as intended. If you are needing to take this to a second floor with no elevator available, it can become a bit of a task. In this scenario, trying to remove the concrete blocks (counter weights) located underneath the last cabinet drawer will not work due to the fact that these blocks have some sort of epoxy or glue that sticks it to the cabinet. It won’t come off. Wear gloves and have 2 strong individuals to take it upstairs safely. Product arrived undamaged.

When the cabinets arrived, there were several visible dings and dents on the exterior, to the degree that the bottom drawer actually got wedged on the ballasts. We spent two hours going at it with rubber mallets until the thing finally worked.Our workplace deals with a lot of truck shipments, so we know that it could have either been a shipper mishandling the pallet or the seller not securing it properly. Either way, once we made it work we decided not to waste more time with a claim on this item.Five stars for the product, minus two for the shipping/packaging.
