This is beautiful and is solid metal. Purchased along with the Grandera towel bar, paper holder, and robe hook for a bathroom remodel. We were looking for a towel bar and ring that have square edges so that the towels actually stay put – these fit the bill. The items are all lovely and high quality. The robe hook did not look like it would actually hold a towel or robe, but once installed we have found that it’s a great design. It’s really easy to change the roll on the paper holder – nothing to swing out of the way. That’s good because the total cost was over $1,000. Yesterday I was at a local member-only warehouse that begins with C, and found a lovely set by Moen that included towel bar, towel ring, robe hook, and paper holder, also with square edges, that was $40 for the whole shebang. Yes, they were not solid metal (hollow square tubes), but were still brushed nickel, and seemed like they would last just fine. Soooo, maybe these accessories are a bit like jewelry – if you like the heavy feel of solid metal and don’t mind the expense, they are great. If you are trying to remodel on a budget, here is a place where you can spend less and still end up with a good product. 4 stars only because of the absurd price.
