So, they kind of depict using this in a tent or on a cot…I mean, why do that if you’re going to buy one that fits your Y specifically? Simply because of the size / shape, if you’re going to be in a tent or on a cot, I recommend a normal air mattress or even a portable memory foam mattress (I have one of those as well). You get this for one reason, and it’s not to set up in the guest bedroom for company, lol. It’s for when you have to “Sleep in the Y”, which is quite a different thing from “Sleeping AT the Y”.Now, let’s face facts. No matter how nice a Tesla is, when it comes to bed time, it’s no closer to the “Waldorf Astoria” than the Yugo you drove as a teenager. Agreed? This gets that situation to “best case scenario”. As in, don’t sleep in your Y if you can help it, but if you’ve got to do so? This is totally the way you want to do it.Also, being a memory foam mattress and not an air mattress, it takes up about 4x as much room as an air mattress deflated would take. So make sure you factor in cargo space, as this does take up a bit of room.In fact, that’s really my only complaint. Yes, it’s very comfortable, and if you’ve gotta sleep in the Y, then this is the wtg. But it sure does take up a lot of space. Whether or not giving up all that space you’d otherwise have for gear for your giant memory foam mattress is a decision you’re going to have to make. But you’ll definitely have to make it, because the comfort this gives definitely comes with the trade-off of taking up a huge amount of space.

I sleep in my Model X when I’m traveling long distances. Prior to this memory foam mattress, I was using a thick yoga mat under an inflatable camping mattress. It was okay, but this memory foam mattress feels more like my actual bed (just firmer). As far as fit is concerned, it fits near the wheel well, so the mattress does not bunch up anywhere (see photos). The pillows are a bit lackluster and flat. I’d suggest using your own pillows.Storing the mattress is easy as you just roll each side up individually – very tightly and then slide each side into one of the bags provided. The only downside to this mattress is how much space is taken up by the actual mattress itself when it’s bagged. Think of 2 laundry bags full of clothes. That’s basically what this is in “storage” mode.Lastly, to completely “fluff up” after first unpacking, the instructions advise that it’ll take about 6 hours. The mattress is washable, just not dryable in any dryer (air dry only).

I have been wanting to get some kind of mattress for my Model Y; but was unsure if I should get an inflatable mattress or a foam one. After reading reviews all over the internet I felt the foam ones would be more comfortable than an air mattress. However, the air mattress would not take up as much room. So, comfort or convenience?Well, comfort won out, especially since this mattress comes in two sections and each had its own storage bag. One bag fits nicely in the rear sub-trunk and the other in the frunk, so no problem with storage. This mattress is 3 inches thick, made up of a combination of support foam and memory foam, which is so comfortable. Feels like my bed at home! Even came with two pillows! The only thing Iâm not crazy about is the color. Kind of an avocado green. Luckily itâs removable and washable. Once you put sheets on, I guess nobody will see the color. This will be perfect for long road trips or when we stop to charge. Nice to be able to stop and relax comfortably. Canât wait to actually take it on the road this summer. Planing a few stops in campgrounds and this will be an absolute dream. Let the kids stay in a tent; theyâre the ones who wanted to go âcampingâ, lol!

My husband used to have a Prius and he had a tent attachment for it and we used it quite often to camp around the west coast and it was fun, but I am past that kind of camping, I want hotels!! Ha… He had been saying that he misses the Prius camping now that he has a Tesla. I saw this mattress and knew he would love it, even if I dont. He put it in the Tesla and I dont need to tell you he loves it. It is comfortable and I think that it seems made very well. I have no intention of car camping, but he is more than welcome. i like that it is two pieces, if its just him in the car, he can use the one section and have more room in the back for other things. It fits nicely in the carrying case. You can take the cover off and wash it, I am impressed with it.

My wife and I recently used the Gaialoop Memory Foam Camping Mattress during a three-night road trip to South Florida in our Toyota 4Runner. Overall, we found the mattress comfortable and a decent fit for our vehicle. The mattress consists of two cot-sized pads, two small pillows, and two carrying bags. The memory foam provided a comfortable sleeping surface, which was a welcome relief after long days of driving. The fit in our 4Runner was reasonably good, although not perfect. One drawback is the mattress’s bulkiness. We decided to leave it in place during our trip to avoid the hassle of rolling it up and storing it. If you need to transport the mattress between uses, be aware that it will take up a significant amount of space, even when rolled up and stored in the provided carrying bags. The option to separate the mattress into two pads is a nice feature, as it allows for more flexible storage and use. The included pillows are a bit small but still useful. In summary, the Gaialoop Memory Foam Camping Mattress is a comfortable option for car camping, especially if you have the space to leave it in place. It’s important to note that it is bulky and may not be the most convenient option if you need to store it frequently. However, its comfort and unique features make it a worthwhile consideration.
