Quality Item
I bought this table topper to enlarge the surface of an antique table I love and use as a dining table in our apartment. It gave me the added size I needed without having to sell my beloved antique table. Great quality, perfect size and good price.

I read about this table top and expected it would be dinged and it is. The black side is chipped around the edges in a couple of places, but the mahogany side is fine and that’s the side I plan to use. I bought it used because of so many complaints about chips. It was sold by Amazon who offered free returns. It looks really great as a coffee table.

This is a beautiful table top and you will have a difficult time deciding which side to use! I bought it after someone attempted to put a top on a new table and used the wrong screws, and all four came through the table top! This new top is perfect! is sturdy with a beautiful finish on both sides.

for $60 am so glad this thing works. I LOVE that the product comes in such a range of sizes… was able to choose the exact right one for my needs, which are weird : I ice skate, and like to warm up pre-skate with a spinner, which can only be used on a level, smooth, and somewhat hard and shiny floor. Well, thanks to COVID, warmups at the rink have to be done outside. Sidewalks and tarmac are way too rough and uneven and a simple piece of sheet metal or lineoleum (impossible to find) are not enough buffer from all that mess in the terrain. This table top, however… PERFECT. I just left the foam around the perimeter that came with the packing, and sometimes slip a yoga mat under one side to make up for ground slope. Can roll the thing, yeah it’s heavy (my 36″ circle one weighs 30 lb) right out of the back floor of my tiny car, across the parking lot, over curbs, etc., to wherever I want it. The surface offers the perfect amount of friction, or lack thereof, for the spinner, and so far is not showing signs of wear from the spinning (the spinner is made of a sort of plastic that feels nice and dense – ie., has some heft, has a slightly more malleable texture than the table top, is not translucent but kinda suggests translucence, ditto rubberiness, almost like it may have some silicon in it or something… hard to describe, sorry…) . When one side of the table top gets all scratched up from the spinner, if it ever does, then I can then flip it to the other side… so the $60 may go a long way. Point is, if this table top can survive my spinning, it can probably also survive slamming beer mugs or even Tom Jones. Also note, the trim around the perimeter (that I keep protected with the foam, for rolling) seems very neatly, cleanly, securely applied. Overall, the thing seems well made.

The mahogany finish side on this table top is very pretty. Once I saw it, I was willing enough to commit to having that side up, that I did attach the pedestal (purchased separately) using the screws provided with the pedestal. Once you do that, of course, the top becomes no longer reversible.Because of the (originally reversible) nature of this table top, there are no screw holes marked or pre-drilled. So, I had to measure carefully to center the pedestal base.I was very nervous about how to get the screws through the plastic laminate surface. My solution was to temporarily apply pieces of duct tape over the area, to mark the holes, AND to keep the drill bit from skittering around on the surface. I measured out and centered the pedestal base, using the screw holes as template, and marked the duct taped surface with a marker (where I wanted the screw holes). I left the duct tape in place on the surface of the laminate, long enough to use a power drill to get just BARELY through the black laminate surface. As soon as I saw anything like wood shavings, I STOPPED. DO NOT drill way into this stuff! After I double-checked the hole alignment and centering, I removed the duct tape. If you use a decent self-drilling screw (such as came with the base I bought also-same manufacturer) you don’t need to fully predrill except to get through the hard plastic laminate surface. Also, hand screwdriver, don’t use a power driver. The interior material of the table felt as if it would strip out pretty easily. Also, do not over tighten the screws, or you’ll be re-measuring and relocating all the screw holes!All-in-all, if you’re careful, this can be the top of an awesome commercial style table. Just need to measure carefully, and not strip out the screw holes., I’d buy it again, for sure. Holds up well to kid arts and crafts.

Like so many other reviewers, my table arrived with a small ding on the surface. However, it wasn’t enough to force me to return it. I do think that if they’d put some bubble wrap or something around it, it wouldhave arrived in pristine condition. Unfortunately, they didn’t do that.It does have a nice weight to it and held its position even though I did nothing to secure it to the pedestal base I sat it on top of. I have to figure out a way to secure it without marring the bottom, as it will no longer be reversible if I do that. I live alone and usually eat at my desk in my home office. My desk is rather large and used to be the formal dining table before being repurposed. However, since I don’t entertain very often, it made more sense to use it as a desk because I can always clear it off and return it to the center of the dining room should I need to seat a group of people. I bought the pedestal because sometimes I’ll have one other person over for dinner and didn’t want to have to keep clearing off and moving my desk each time. The table top on my wooden pedestal which serves as a plant stand other times, fills the bill perfectly! The mahogany side is very nice and fits in well with my decor. And, although it’s a nice solid weight, it’s light enough where I don’t mind lifting it and carrying it when I need to use it.
