 I am a software engineer who works mostly at home. Having got fitter in other ways over lockdown, I began to realize that “sitting is the new smoking” is probably now the main threat to my health.I selected this model as I am fairly tall and have a large amount of equipment on my desk: dual monitors, a laptop, a large graphics tablet, some audio gear, two studio speakers and a KVM switch box. For maximum size I paired this frame with the “Duronic Sit Stand Desk Top TT187 NL” top. This isn’t designed specifically for the Ergomaker frame but it’s really easy to mark positions with a bradawl and put self-tapping screws in with a drilldriver. (Make sure the screws aren’t too long!)Assembly overall was pretty easy, taking me about 1hr 20min – bearing in mind, as I say, that the top wasn’t predrilled to fit. Some aspects are definitely a two person job as the frame is pretty heavy. Read the instructions carefully and only just start the bolts before even beginning to tighten them, otherwise you’ll find them hard to align and start.I used the “HUANUO Dual Monitor Stand for 13 to 27 inch Screens, Gas Spring Dual Monitor Arm” to support the screens: this clamps securely on the back of the desk without the need for further drilling, and has sufficient forward reach to place the screens at a comfortable distance.The desk moves up and down quietly and smoothly despite the very considerable load. I like the feature of having up to 4 height presets.I was surprised at how quickly I adjusted to standing up for almost the entire working day. I’m in my late 50’s and it’s really big change in lifestyle. I certainly feel the difference, but I can easily power through and I do feel more alert throughout the day. I will balance that by saying that I work out several times a week and have lost a lot of weight recently: if you were really unfit you’d have to phase a standing desk in much more carefully in my opinion.Honestly, I’m really delighted with this bit of kit.Edit: I’ve added a some assembly photos, and a video of the desk going up. Two things to bear in mind: it can go even higher than this, and the video gives the impression that the motors are louder than they really are. Quite quiet in practice.

I’ve already assembled the high-end standing desk and it is surprisingly stable and quiet. I’ve also recommended it to my friend and family. Compared with the competitors (e.g., Lazy Maisons. Don’t want to talk about IKEA as it is too low), Ergomaker has better quality and a more reasonable price.Furthermore, with quick response and great outcome of the fantastic after-sales service do impress me a lot. I believe that standing with the customer and thinking as selves are the key to providing remarkable customer service, and indeed, Ergomaker has got one.
