Decent bed. I have space now!
Bed arrived after about 4 weeks. It was very easy to assemble. Most of the load is borne by screws which I find troubling.Despite this it does seem to be quite sturdy.I am an adult, 30yr old woman. I have a very small bachelor suite. This bed replaced a large log bed that took up most of the room in my small one room apartment. The new bed does a fantastic job of making the most of a small space.I am 5ft5 and the bottom of the bunk is at my forehead when I’m standing beside it. I can sit at my desk underneath it and still have lots of room above my head.Cons:The railing is not very tall. My mattress is a full sized mattress with a 4″ gel memory foam addition on top of it. Because of this the railing only serves to keep my mattress in place as it doesn’t reach above the mattress sides. So I have had to line the bunk with pillows along the walls. It rocks. It rocks so much. When I climb the ladder, despite the rocking, it’s feet stay on the floor. I am going to find a way to brace it to the wall to help illeviate the shaking. The ladder. I hate the ladder. One side of it is also the right headboard leg of the bed so I literally have to sit on my pillow to get out of bed. And the ladder is flush to the side which makes it a greater challenge since I am so close to the ceiling because of the added height from the mattress. What I’m going to do about these issues:There isn’t much I can do about only being held up by screws but pray. For the rocking, I’m going to try to bracket the bed to the wall.I will probably use a different ladder.I am also going to put plywood underneath the mattress and opt for a 6″ mattress instead of a 12″.I’m going to install plug and play 4ft LED shop lights underneath the bed. As well as maybe a motion sensor bar light for the ladder.I’ve slept on it for two nights now. Other than the problem of getting the dog on and off, it’s a great bed. I have a lot more space now. I do feel safe sleeping on it once I got used to the rocking.I will update this if something happens, because of the weight difference between an adult instead of a child I will definitely update this if I fall through it.I’m pretty sure it’s rated to 250lbs, I bring 140 with the added weight of my dog. Not including the weight of the mattress.

Great for kids
It’s a metal frame so add some blue locktite for the bolts or just keep checking to see that they didn’t back out. Its great to make space in a small house or apartment

Definitely a two person job
The quality of this bed is dependent on whether or not the holes to screw in all the hex fittings are drilled. Mine has some that were angled and made it extremely difficult to put together. I read all the reviews and research before I made this purchase so I was aware of the issues. I will definitely be securing this bed to the wall. I have re-tightened the screws as well. I highly recommend that, perhaps regularly.

Cheap, extremely hard to assemble
I do not recommend anyone purchase this item. It is poorly designed and made with the cheapest materials possible. Amazon actually refunded me for the purchase, and I ended up throwing it out. Below is a list of reasons why you should not buy this item.1) The material is extremely flimsy. It’s extremely thin tubing of some alloy. It came bent and dented right out of the box. If you grip the posts hard enough, you will be able to dent it. Looking at the parts wrong will cause them to deform.2) The holes for putting this together are stamped out. The excess cut metal to make these holes is left in the tube and rattles around. I attempted to remove most of the metal, but I wasn’t able to get all of it.3) The design incorporates angled holes – meaning you have to drive these screws and bolts at a weird angle not perpendicular to the tubing. This is extremely challenging and borderline impossible if you’re just using the hex key it comes with. You’re also not able to tighten these bolts enough as the head of screw comes in at an angle and does not make full contact with the face of the tubing (because you’re driving the screw at an angle). This is just poor design. If you still want to buy this bed, I suggest you re-drill all the holes from the start.4) Mine came with misaligned holes! To make sure I wasn’t losing my mind, I lined up the tubes that were supposed to fit and measured it out. Without re-drilling, it would have been impossible for me to assemble this, but I bought this because I didn’t want to make one my own. Weirdly enough, there were also extra holes in the material that were not in the instructions. It felt like a practical joke.5) The slats are held in place with these pin-like plastic fasteners. It’s hard to assemble and dissemble them because they’re put in by force like pins.6) The ladder is uncomfortable to climb on because the tubing is so thin, it’s like stepping on a sharp rock. You can even see one of the other reviewers put pool noodles on the ladder to make it more comfortable.Overall, I don’t know why anyone would purchase this. At 300$, I thought I was going to get a sturdy metal loft bed. I was comparing it to the Ikea wooden loft bed (also 300$) which I had previously owned. I thought this would be an upgrade. They cheaped out in every possible way – no threaded connections, thin gauge material, stamped angled holes, no care in packaging as it came dented and twisted.Don’t make the mistake I did by buying this bed.

Iâm going to try to include a very thorough review. I purchased this in early February and Iâve now been sleeping on it for over a month. It arrived earlier than the earliest expected shipping date, which was wonderful. It came in a box around 7 feet long and over a foot wide by less than a foot deep. Quite heavy and because of how long it is, I donât recommend trying to slug it inside alone. Iâm fairly fit but Iâm also 5â4â so trying to manhandle a box this size alone would not have been great.Once opened, the contents are all labelled very clearly. The instruction book is clear enough to get the loft assembled, although one issue I encountered is that in the earlier parts of the instructions, some parts are depicted in the pictures that donât get attached until later steps. I would say glance through the whole book first to have a sense of what goes on when. I had my father helping me assemble this, and after glancing through, we could mostly operate without it. It served to reference which screws we used at which times. The hardware pack comes separated and labelled, however do not peel the whole backing off. The parts are labelled on the front side of the backing so if it is torn off in pieces, you wonât be able to tell which pieces are what. The instruction pictures donât 100% clearly depict the screw lengths beyond what letter they are labelled as and a couple of the sizes are very similar.Having a second person was the easiest way to assemble this. If I had been one person, it would have been a great deal tougher. Even just having a second person who can hold the structure up so it can be assembled upright made this far easier than any alternative.Getting into the actual building, it took my father and I a bit over 2 hours, we used power tools and not the hand tools the hardware comes with. Regardless of whether or not you have power tools, do not tighten things up until the end of assembly. There were a couple times my father and I had to go back and loosen something a bit so we could get the holes of another area to line up. All the pieces are made to fit exactly, so when one area receives tension before another, it alters the shape just enough to throw off alignment. This is normal for tubular metal. It does not mean there is a defect. We built this in a 10×10 bedroom with some furniture all pushed to one side giving us a 7×10 workspace or so. It was a bit to maneuver sometimes, I would say this is the smallest floor space one can build this in. Any smaller and we might not have been able to move ourselves and the pieces as needed. Now that is is together, its wonderful. It does wobble, but tubular metal naturally has give to it. Its not a scary amount of shaking so long as one doesnât try to move too fast. Iâve been on it over a month now and its quite comfortable. The bar supports are nice but I do have a thin plywood sheet on top to go directly under my bed. I have a memory foam mattress and didnât want to risk the bars creating strange indents. For a regular spring mattress, theyâre probably just fine. The rungs do hurt my feet a small bit but not enough to warrant needing to cover them, and my boyfriend feels the same way.I weigh something like 150 pounds and my boyfriend weighs something like 170 and we can both comfortably sleep on this bed. It doesnât feel like it will collapse under us, nor does it shake too much.My apartment is less than 250 square feet and this loft has helped dramatically with increasing space. I keep my hope chest, dresser, and clothes divider hamper underneath it. I do have to duck under it and Iâm 5â4â, its around 5â clearance. I could see having a desk or chair underneath this and working out well, which was my original plan. All in all, for $200, this is an excellent purchase.I may attach some pictures at some point.

Iâm an adult (130lb 5â2), I got this bed to save space but upgrade from a twin so that my boyfriend (200ish lb 6â1) and I could sleep together more comfortably. Hereâs everything I would suggest if I had to redo building this bed:1. If you value your sanity you will place rubber washers between each connection of metal pieces. This thing will shake, and if you didnât properly completely tighten each screw it will creak like a pirate ship on the sea with even the smallest movements.2. Donât tighten all the screws until the very end.3. Ideally put this together in a completely empty room with another person to help you. Solo took me 4ish hours to really get together.4. Use loctite to ensure the screws donât unscrew.5. Get earthquake anchors to secure the entire thing to the wall.It is a beast to put together but it sleeps nicely. I like being high up off the ground and it has enough space for my pc setup below. Yes the weight limit is 300lb but we havenât crashed to the ground yet and I doubt weâll use this thing for more than a year.

The listing states this ships in several boxes, but thatâs not the case. The shipment came in one large/heavy box thatâs about 7ft tall.I live alone so I had to get the box across my apartment complex lobby and up two flights of stairs by myself. Suffice to say it wasnât the best experience. If you can, get help from at least one other person (for both handling of the box and assembly). Most of the assembly was fairly straightforward, though quite tedious. As some others have pointed out, itâs not recommended to fully tighten all the bolts initially, as certain pieces like the head and foot railing can be hard to put on and align while all the previous bolts are tightened. Also, Step 10 involves clipping on heavy duty pieces of plastic for full support. This took a toll on my hands, as the plastic was rigid and prone to pinching. I ended up with sore fingers and a blood blister by the time I was done. The finished product feels sturdy enough. It wobbles about as much as youâd expect and can be a bit creaky, but it doesnât feel prone to collapsing whatsoever.Itâs quite tall. I recommend reviewing the dimensions before purchasing, as itâs possible you wonât have much clearance between the mattress (not included) and your ceiling. I have about 2ft remaining myself, so I canât sit up freely while in bed.One more thing, be mindful that the ladder and opening to get onto the bed are quite narrow. The rungs of the ladder feel sturdy, but are prone to hurting your feet as you climb. Some other reviewers have recommended pool noodles or other types of cushioning to make for a more comfortable climb.

This bed has been a total game changer.First of all, it has revolutionized the space in my room. As I type this review, Iâm lounging on a bean bag under my bed, and more than half of my floor is wide open space. This is a complete change from before, when I had a skinny path to navigate around my bed. I had no room to relax except for on my bed, which wasnât conducive to studying, either…Additionally, as someone who has ADHD and struggles with executive dysfunction as a baseline, I love not being able to fling my clothes (and backpack, and books, and packages, and mail, etc, etc, etc) on the bed and forget about them. My bed is strictly for sleeping now, and Iâm surprised at how much of a difference itâs made to my mental health and my sleep schedule.Assembly: Manageable with two people. It took a couple hours to get it unpacked, put together, and get the mattress up. Not bad at all so long as youâve got a helper and space. Tighten the screws periodically to keep the frame sturdy and solid.Style: The bed frame is magnetic! So Iâve got magnets for decoration and have used shower curtain hangers to add functionality. Iâve got my mail sorter hung on hooks and plan to hang some art in a similar fashion so I can avoid putting nails in the wall. Iâve also got cute string lights set up!Comfort: The only uncomfortable thing about this bed is the ladder. Itâs straight vertical and the rungs donât allow for much weight distribution at all. High density foam pipe covers blend in and make the steps bearable. The bed feels a little shaky the first few times you climb up and down but after using it for a few weeks I donât notice anymore.Price: I finally pulled the trigger on buying this bed after months of planning and research. This model was the highest rated, full-sized, metal-framed, under-$300 bed I could find. I waited to buy it until after college move in season. (The price was temporarily inflated; if youâre thinking about buying this bed, consider the time of year and plan accordingly.)Misc: I have a very tall mattress that rises above the safety rails, but I have not had a problem with the edge. I do recommend checking how close you will be to the ceiling, because it was a little closer than I expected. Still, donât regret buying this bed at all. Worth every penny and more. Also, while the bed holds up to shaking from rigorous activity and vibration, the metal frame does make noise, so if youâve got roommates, be careful.

Bought this for a studio apartment to maximize space and it works great! Lots of space underneath and the design looks sleek and unobtrusive. I got a 12â mattress and definitely recommend getting a thinner mattressâthe top of mine hits exactly on the tops of the bars, so it would be very easy to roll off. My one complaint is the ladderâas others have mentioned in the reviews, the bars are thin and very hard on feet. I cushioned them with insulator foam but still find it difficult to feel safe when getting up and down and find that the bed shakes a lot when using the ladder, so I opted to buy a large stepladder to use instead. Other than climbing up and down, the bed is pretty sturdy even when not bolted to the wall.
