That this chair likely has German roots is quite evident.But first, a little background. I work mostly from home and have been through many office chairs over the years, seeking the same comfort and support that my Volvo car provides. (One of the key selling points of my Volvo XC70 (3rd generation) was that its seats were designed by Swedish chiropractors. There must have been truth to that as I could take 8 to 10 hour drives on it, no problem. The seats are so comfortable and supportive that back is always relaxed on arrival.)My wife’s masseuse suggested that I try a gaming chair. After hours of reading reviews of the many options available on Amazon, I decided to get the Songmics. One of the reviews mentioned the German and English instructions that came with it (and also the existence of the German website songmics.de).One of the key factors was quality and whether it was suitable for 8 or more hours of desk work. I also needed neck and lower back support, and the ability to stretch back and take short power naps. This chair provides all of it.Quality PU leather and foam is used throughout and stitching is excellent. The padded armrests are super comfortable, and they move to any position that you recline the seat. The head pillow is perfect for my height (I’m 5’10”). I did not experience any issues of either the head pillow or the armrests coming loose as other reviewers have indicated. (But then I’ve used this chair for just one day.) The lower back pillow seemed a bit large at first, but after some use I’ve figured that the size is perfect and is best used when sitting in a semi reclined posture.Assembly instructions are super clear and all the necessary parts are included, including a spare set of nuts, bolts and washers, and an Allen wrench. It’s possible to put this chair together fairly quickly. To save time, I used a power drill with an Allen bit, which made assembly super quick.There was only one step in the assembly process where it would be beneficial to have a second person assist. It is in attaching the back part to the seat of the chair. It requires a little pressure to push down the back part so that the holes line up for the fastening bolts. (I was able to do this on my own through.)Now, to the part where where the rubber meets the road. Yesterday I spent a full 8 hours on the chair (which included 5 hours of computer time and three hours on a Zoom call). I would normally be tired at the end of the day, but yesterday I actually came away feeling relaxed and refreshed. I was able to actually focus and get more work done than I normally do. Also, I got a big “thank you” from my back!Although this chair is manufactured in China, I experienced no offensive “factory” smell! (This is owing to the quality of the PU leather that is used.)Pros:Very comfortable and supportive, for working long hoursNice, tasteful design. Got rid of back pain from folding chair within a day of using
maybe not “got rid” but definitely didn’t cause any like the folding chair I used prior to this chair constantly gave me! I love reclining and watching shows on my computer/tv on this chair. i really like the leg rest too, i’d say it is quite sturdy. good size for me (5’9) and the seat is not super hard like some reviews make it seem like, i prefer it to be denser anyways because i think it prevents back pain more than a super soft seat would. love the pillows too but i’m not entirely sure how the straps on the lumbar pillow are supposed to work… whatever i did doesn’t look right but it works… the pleather and cushion quality is very nice in my opinion and the assembly was super easy and fun! all necessary screws and tools were included and the instructions were easy to follow. can’t wait to use this chair for a long time

Decent for Price
Pros:Quick and easy to assemble.Build Quality seems fineBottom has plenty of support and is nice and wide without the “wings”Cons:The head cushion keeps slipping off and is basically useless unless in the reclined position.The lumbar cushion is too large for the chairThe arms aren’t nearly high enough to get my elbows on the armrest I need to slouch a lot.

Very uncomfortable
I just got rid of this chair after two years. It held up well as I used it all the time but it was very uncomfortable. The seat does not tilt and even with the back pillow, there is no lumbar support. The armrests would consistently come loose. Picked up a different one this week and I am much happier.

I liked the allen wrench included for assembly; super assembly instructions included; and solid, soft feel–I love it!
