Came damaged.
It does the job and is cute looking. But one piece was significantly damaged when I opened the box. Didn’t want to go through the process of having to return, at least it’s on the back and can’t be seen. Some of the cap screws just wouldn’t fit no matter how hard I tried. And one little screw had no grooves in it! So had to twist it the best with my fingers and hammer in the rest! Bit expensive for the quality, but my kid loves it.

looks can be costly
Very sturdy and relatively easy to put together. I originally wanted one in natural but the expresso was the only option available, still looks great though.

My favorite piece of toddler furniture!
My son loves this. I have it up to my front picture window and it sits nicely under it. He can stand on it to look out at the cars or sits in it to read. Easy for him to put away his books and find them! He loves his books and I needed a book shelf to store them that wasn’t huge for my living room. Could not be happier. My son is 18 mos but will be able to fit in the nook for a long time to come I imagine. It’s small – but the perfect size! Couldn’t be happier.

Not good quality
Our product came with some marks on the wood and stains on the cushions. Itâs not very sturdy but good enough for our one year old.

Mixed feeling…..
A lot of people mentioned the material is cheap and came with a lot of damages. They are not lying. Recieved last week and at lease 5 pieces of wooden are chipped. Luckily they are all chipped on the invisible side so I just build it anyways…..The idea of the product is great and the completed product is great. But the fact that the cushion came with stink and the wooden pieces are chipped make me rate it 1 star…..

Faulty Workmanship
A few times, putting this together, I though I was going to break it. My biggest complaint is that the top right side will not attach, the holes were made too low.To order the piece I need is under warranty and free, but only ships to the US; that doesnât help being in Canada. I canât take the screws out; so, make sure you do everything exact, or you might not be able to go backwards in construction.Itâs still not fully assembled, I need to find longer screws that match so they will lock in place. If I canât find screws for this, I will be asking for a refund; I cannot find contact information for the seller here on Amazon and still have the Kids Kraft ordering page open (still figuring out my options, because as I said, Iâm struggling to deconstruct. Iâm going to have to return it as a whole piece-pfft, yeah right, shipping cost; itâs more likely garbage) – More work than anticipated; more work than putting together IKEA bunk beds.Unique design, cute piece for kids, poor workmanship.

Perfect for toddler room
My son loves curling up in his seat. Good quality wood to use with simple easy-to-follow instructions.

Weâve bought a KidKraft products in the past/been happy with them and this one did not disappoint! Easy to assemble by myself, all you need outside of whatâs included in the box is a screwdriver. It feels sturdy and I especially like that the cushions are connected with Velcro to attach to the bookcase. We own a similar bookcase made by a competitor & their 3 separate cushions for the reading nook are always slipping all over the place if not falling off when my kiddos attempt to sit on them. My only complaint is that the 4 lower shelves are on the shorter side, but the 2 larger shelves on either side of the reading nook are tall enough to accommodate all of our larger hardcover books so it works for us!

This turned out just right. I really like how it looks, and how kid-sized it is. It’s a versatile nook that could go in a number of places as a child ages and spaces change. That said, the assembly process does give you a new appreciation for IKEA. Everyone makes fun of them, but whoever designed this makes their designers look like Einsteins working with far more durable materials. I wouldn’t say this was difficult to assemble, just… awkward. As if the final shape was paramount and dictated everything, so there was no thought given to the odd contortions or special tools you might need for specific steps. (For instance, you need a screwdriver to tighten the cam bolts on the inside of the slanted top compartments, but a normal-length screwdriver is too long for that space.)Similarly, I wouldn’t say that the instructions were hard to follow. The parts were well-organized and labeled. However, the instructions do tend to lump a whole bunch of steps together, in a way that IKEA wouldn’t.Well, I suppose these are the trade-offs for overall cheapness. Again, I had no real trouble putting this together, but on the other hand, I totally see why people might.
