I took away one star because of how difficult it was to put together. It took over 7 hrs for my handyman to get it done

We needed an extra bed, this bed is literally everything. It is very comfortable to sleep in. It is very easy to bring down and put back up. Even though it is in the living room, it does not take up space and it looks like it is there as a fashion statement. Itâs very clean and simple. I did not even try to assemble it myself, because I didnât want to risk doing it wrong and accidentally having it fall on anyone using it or around it, so I hired a professional. The professional worked on it alone, and they took about 8 to 9 hours to fully assemble and mount the bed to the wall. I totally recommend if you want to buy this and you have limited space or even if you have a lot of space I think you should invest in one for guests or just to have for whatever reason. Iâve been searching for a Murphy bed for the past five to six months and this was one of my top choices for a while, and it is such a good price and I think it is totally worth it because the quality of it is just amazing. I think if youâre hesitant because I know I was you shouldnât be, donât look any further.

The framing system for this bed is exceptionally strong. It makes a huge difference. The front of the bed is not the most attractive, but that is my fault for buying this model.The company only supplied one handle. I called customer service. They answered right away. I gave them my name and they had the model number of the bed and all of the parts in the package in their software. The best customer support I have ever had. They made it so easy and quick. I received the part in a few days by FedEx.The make a solid product backed by state of the art customer support. So refreshing these days.

So you’re definitely looking at a solid 8-10 hours to fully assemble. You can get the wood frame up in about 3-4 hours, then the frame will take just as much time. Instructions are pretty clear, but I have a few caveats:1. I don’t know why they think I need to use 4″ lag bolts into my studs, when the thread is only about 1.5″ on both the 4″ and the 2″. And also, the screws going into the cabinet are super small (#8x-1/2), so the weakest link is the cabinet screws. I opted to use the 2″ screws. Also they want you to install SIX lag bolts to bolt the frame to the bottom wall stud (again, I used better judgement, two 2″ and two 4″ (because there were no more 2″ left) screws were PLENTY.2. After you get the frame built up, they want you to put the pneumatic cylinders on almost immediately, which means the bearing brackets, the adjustable position brackets, and the slats all need a 2nd person to hold the bed down while you try to do all of this. I think if you kept them off until the end it could have made things much easier.3. I bought a 12′ foam mattress (which this said it could handle), and while that’s true (it will close flush), the mattress does not fit under the back stop brackets, and the folding legs barely fit over the mattress (good thing I’m tall, I was able to tuck them before fully closing because it did get stuck). Might need to come up with some sort of strap that flattens the end of the mattress before you close it back up.4. Would be nice if they labeled the three boxes better. One says mechanism, the other two are the wood frame (but none of them told you which has the instructions). It would have been nice to read them ahead of time so I knew what I was up against. Tried downloading the manual from their website, but this model isn’t available?Overall, for about a thousand bucks (frame plus mechanism) this is a pretty good deal on a decently designed murphy bed kit. Yes it’s plywood with a wrap (that’s to be expected), but even if you were to try to build this out of solid wood you would have to basically build butcher block (the sides panels are like 18″ wide).

 I reside in a studio unit which measures about 479 square feet. I selected this Murphy Bed due to its sophisticated appearance and ample space, measuring around 70″ (6ft) when closed. This bed provides variety in my home. I adore how Bestar Claremont enhances the way I live. Definitely recommend purchasing.
