Exactly what I was hoping for!
I had ordered this in mid December and it arrived a couple days before Christmas. The package itself shipped from Japan (as told by my tracking number) and I didn’t have to pay customs fees/duties when it arrived. I’m a small person (5’1″) so when I sit at the table it’s a perfect size for me when I use my laptop or read.About the table: It has a reversible top which is neat; I use the dark side since it better matches my furniture. The heating element gets warm quickly and is self controlled to make sure that the heater doesn’t exceed the level that’s set on the dial. Despite the instructions being completely in Japanese, putting the table together was really simple and the package included all the hardware. The table legs are made of sturdy plastic, the heating element is metal and the table top is wood. The table is lightweight and easy to move around. The plug didn’t require a converter for my Canadian outlets.So far, I’ve used the table 3-4 days out of the week for the past 2 weeks for 4-6 hours a day and I really love it. So far, the only negative I have is that when the heating element is first turned on it smells just like any other new heater does. I suggest turning it on and letting it run before putting a blanket over it so the smell can escape. Turn it on when using it and remember to turn the table off when you’re done. Like someone else suggested, I use a queen size blanket to use in place of a kotatsu futon. This is my favorite purchase and is perfect for my basement apartment.

Possibly one of my favourite purchases. It arrived super fast with no customs, very easy to set up, and no converter needed in Canada. Any heated electrical has that weird burn smell when you turn on it for the first time..It gets WARM, and doesn’t take long either to heat up. Super awesome if you always have cold feet, and the blanket keeps all the heat in – just don’t forget to turn it off when you’re out!We’re currently using a queen sized duvet and works pretty well. It is extremely comfortable for one person, but more can sit if you’re mindful of feets in the way. Table top is big enough for us to enjoy our own activities or have meals on; there is also a light and dark side to the top.It’s been extremely helpful and reliable for this past month and I can see us using this for the years to come!Oh, and once you’re in the kotatsu, you dont leave it…

Came damaged but quickly got rectified
The kotatsu came much faster than expected (1-2 weeks rather than 1 month estimated). Unfortunately, the table top was damaged due to shipping (the box was crushed and bursting open on one side). However, when we contacted them, they were very helpful and agreed to ship us a new table top because of the extent of the damage.The product itself was easy to assemble. Needed to use some Google Translate to read some of the safety warnings, but the pictures are pretty self-explanatory still. Very happy with our purchase.

It’s alright
I do use it all the time and I really like it but.. The legs are a very cheap plastic and pop out time to time, it’s a little wobbly; even when you tighten the legs as much as possible. Your better off buying a replacement heater for this and screwing it to a coffee table.. it’d be the cheaper option.

Good product and fast shipping
Im from canada, Got the package within days and was shipped from japan, so fast! I had to pay tax ( 20$) at the border. As for the product, it is as advertised,no scratch on anything and no need a special plug for it ( since its from japan) it was smelling a bit burned when i turned on the heat but for first time usage its fine. Love Japan product that is so considerate that comes with screwdriver for table assembling. It is easy to assemble and the heater frame is made of special material such that your legs won’t get burnt by the heater. The table top comes with two colors: black as shown and marble grey, you could use any side of the table top. Love it.

Funciona bien la mesa y el calentador, pero le pongo tres estrellas porque se paso la fecha estimada que tenia que llegar a la direccion, que tuve que pasar por ella a paqueteria, y la otra es que la mesa que da un poco rota en la punta de la orilla, pero el calentador si funciona bien.

J’ai reçu mon kotatsu très en retard à la période des fêtes, car le transporteur DHL croulait sous les commandes. C’était un rêve d’en posséder un pour moi, et je suis très contente de l’avoir enfin !Le vendeur a été adorable et m’a tenu au courant lorsqu’il y a eu des complications, probablement exceptionnelles. J’ai eu la mauvaise idée de demander un remboursement alors que le colis n’arrivait pas dans les temps, ce qui n’était absolument pas la faute du vendeur, ni vraiment celle du transporteur, car comme je l’ai dit, ils avaient énormément de livraisons. J’ai causé du tort à cette petite entreprise à cause de ma perte de patience et de mon commentaire négatif, et j’en suis désolée. J’espère que ça a pu être réparé, car j’ai bien reçu mon article et le remboursement a été annulé.En ce qui concerne le kotatsu, il est malheureusement arrivé avec pas mal de défauts. Des fissures notamment, et heureusement pas du côté du plateau que je voulais utiliser. Pour les dégâts, c’est quand-même assez dommage pour le prix auquel je l’ai payé. Le kotatsu est en plastique qui plus est.Pour les bons points maintenant, sachez que c’est extrêmement facile à monter ! Je n’ai même pas eu besoin de traduire, les images parlaient d’elles-mêmes. J’ai dû mettre à peine 5/10 minutes pour tout monter. Il y avait un serre boulons avec, donc même pas besoin de tournevis. Et je n’avais jamais monté de meuble seule ! C’est pour dire à quel point ça a été facile.Pour le chauffage, c’est hyper agréable ! Pas besoin de mettre à fond. à peine au milieu de la jauge, ça chauffe déjà très bien. On se croirait dans un bain chaud ! Je ne sais pas encore si ça va durer dans le temps, mais je l’espère.Vous aurez besoin d’un transformateur, car la prise est une prise japonaise et la table fonctionne à 300W. J’ai trouvé facilement un transformateur à environ 80â¬, qui va jusqu’à 500W. Jusqu’à maintenant, c’est amplement suffisant. Il transforme les 100V de la table en les 230V français. Attention à bien lire les propositions et les caractéristiques du transformateur. Vous verrez que ça marque que c’est à partir de 110V, mais il y a une marge, donc pour les 100V c’est très bien.On peut donc avoir un kotatsu en France en 2023, sans problème.N’oubliez pas que cette table chauffante japonaise ne vient pas avec une couverture !! Ce n’est que la table, le chauffage et le câble. Il vous faudra donc absolument dépenser de l’argent dans au moins une couverture aux dimensions carrées, pour le sol j’ai pris une autre couverture pour le confort (un tapis ça le fait pas trop), une ou plusieurs chaises de sol pour le confort (ce que je vous conseille) et le transformateur. Oui, ça revient cher. Vous saurez vite si vous pouvez ou pas et si vous êtes prêts pour cette courte aventure du kotatsu.Malgré les défauts, j’en suis très contente. Et si jamais j’en ai marre du plateau qui a des défauts, il me suffira d’acheter une planche et de la découper selon les bonnes dimensions.

I live where it gets chilly in winter, and I love to eat, read, and study when I am warm. This is a fantastic way to do all three. It was so easy to set up, the temperature is easy to control, and it’s a sturdy kotatsu too! If you’re looking for a good addition to your home, this is definitely a good choice!
