Great quality for the price!
After spending several hours searching online for the perfect loft beds with full-size mattresses, I settled on this model that had great reviews and the best features. I ordered 2 of these for my 2 teens, aged 12 and 13. They love everything about them. The fact that there is a ladder on the front and the side was a selling point since both bedrooms have different orientations. Everything is extremely sturdy. I can climb on it with them and feel completely safe.Took me about 3 hours with my 12-yr old daughter to put the first one up, and then it took me less than an hour to put the second one up. Note: I’m the mom!It will probably take more time to break it down than to put up. Very simple and sturdy construction. The steps on the ladders are wide, which does not hurt the feet.We are using standard full-size mattresses with a 3″ memory foam topper, and it works perfectly.My only regret is that I can no longer lay beside them for night-night hugs and kisses! I have to step on my toes to get a kiss from them 🙁

Putting this bed together was straight forward. Instead of using the supplied allen wrench, my son opted to use his power drill which made the job go faster.Needed two people for some parts putting together.My grand-daughter will love this bed.

It was an easy build, less than 2 hours and it is very sturdy and gives a big kid more space in their room without making them feel like a child for having a bunk style bed. Very satisfied with this one!

I recently moved into a tiny apartment and this bed has been a lifesaver! Itâs nice to have some personal space lol. To get around you can put a wheely chair and slide out of the bottom loft so you donât hit your head.

Easy to put together, with my husband took less than an hour and a half. No snags, instructions are easy to follow.The box came extremely late and was very damaged, cardboard was ripped open in several places. There was only a few small scuff marks on one pole, not enough to worry about so I blame it on the postal service.The sturdiness of the bed is questionable compared to the other DHP bed that I own. I also have a twin loft with an X shaped frame. It is extremely sturdy and never shakes at all even when I climb it (170 lbs.) Since this one is a full size and has a square corner frame I understand that it would not be quite as solid, but I was hoping for a little better. It bangs on the wall then my 7 yer old climbs it. We carefully tightened the bolts during assembly and we used all the plastic pieces in the correct spots, but I will go back through and retighten today and see if that helps.Also the ladder is metal, of course it hurts to climb, so I will be adding padding to it today.Love this design, this is a total space saver in my kids room. It is a well made product and I will continue to buy from DHP in the future.

I got my loft bed about a week ago, and I must say I love it! The fact that it’s a loft leaves me with plenty of room to fit more things in my small apartment room, and supplies me with a sturdy desk area to put my computer and give me an area to work and play games. And it’s a great price to boot!I will say this about the bed, however. Though it is sturdy, I will say that it does wobble, both when you climb the ladder to get up on the bed, and if you roll around on the bed. I’ve read some other reviews saying that once you are on the bed, it doesn’t move, and that just isn’t true. The legs aren’t super thick, so a little wobble when you move around is to be expected. That being said, it isn’t anything that bothers me personally, and it doesn’t move enough to disturb myself or the things I have on the desk beneath me. I’m mostly just saying this for anyone that may be a super restless sleeper, it may be a problem or keep you awake more. Another note, some reviews complain about the ladder hurting your feet, but it hasn’t been much of a problem for me. Just a bit of discomfort, but no pain.Another thing is assembly. It isn’t hard to put together and can be done by yourself, but I will say it can get a bit arduous, and an extra set of hands to help will greatly speed up the process, even if that person is just helping hold something up.Those things aside, I’m super happy with this bed thus far, and recommend it to anyone looking to save a little space! 😀

I am very pleased with this purchase. I have been searching for a long time for the perfect loft bed for my son. I wanted a wooden bed because I was concerned about the metal being cheap and flimsy, but The metal is sturdy , my son is very happy. Only thing I expected the bed to be a little taller. Im 5″1 and have to bend to get under but other than that it is perfect. It took about two hours to assemble but well worth it.

I moved to a small efficiency apartment in NYC to be closer to my office. I need an office space in my apartment, but don’t have the square footage. After looking at several photos of well-designed efficiency apartments, I saw several ideas that made sense to me. My building has plaster walls (and who knows what’s back there), so I was limited to ideas that don’t screw through the walls. I saw several photos online of loft bed designs that were similar to my decor goals.Caveats for a lofted bed no matter the model1) You are going to be at least 5 feed above the floor. This isn’t a trivial height. It requires using either the built in ladders or a separate stand alone ladder to get into bed at night. If you’re on medications, or go out for a night on the town, BE CAREFUL.2) Make sure you have the head space for the bed first. If your ceilings are low, this is the WRONG choice for you. Banging your head or hand in the ceiling is not a good way to relax before going to sleep.However, if you have the right kind of space, this is an absolutely awesome, stylish choice for an apartment.The DHP Abode Full-Size Loft Bed comes with a desk and two built in ladders. The box is HEAVY. So, delivery through Amazon was awesome! (Someone else had to haul it up 3 flights.) The bed and desk comes in a pretty tightly packed box, so it fits up old, pre-war stairways or in elevators.The bed comes with a full set of instructions. I highly recommend reading all the instructions before starting the assembly process. Careful planning on the assembly greatly helped make this process easier than many flat pack assemblies. I recommend using your own tools if you can. While the bed comes with a small wrench, etc., I recommend investing in a small assembly toolkit – you and your hands will thank you.After assembling the bed, I was able to install the desk and two shelves. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws. The screws are exactly the right length. Any more, and you’ll push through the surface!What I like- Clear Instructions with the fasteners grouped for pre-assembly planning- Metal frame is solid but not crazy heavy.- Unique mattress “box-spring” idea using dozens of metal rods (very clever)What I don’t like- The ladders are very narrow – somewhat of a nuisance to get up and down if you’re older than 10. I bought a separate black stand-alone ladder to use. It does have 2 built in ladders (one on the side and one at the foot) that are part of the supporting frame.- No adjustments for the top mattress rails. You’re stuck with the height it comes in. Not a big issue if you’re aware of it up front.

This took just a couple of hours to set up. My mother and I worked together, and it is definitely a two-person job. The desk is surprisingly solid and really nice. The ladders are a bit small but not awfully so. At two spots we couldn’t get screws to go fully in, but it doesn’t seem to have any issue as a result, still very sturdy. I’m 5’9″ 170lbs, and it is near perfect size, albeit I have to duck a few inches to get under and have bonked myself a few times getting out, but that’s on me. It could use a little extra support as it wobbles just a bit getting in or out and creaks and wobbles a bit when moving around in the bed. It’s really minor though, far from an actual issue. The extra little shelves and pin board are a nice little extra touch too. Overall, it’s really nice, pretty fair for the price, and fairly easy to put together as a duo. It adds so much space to the room, would recommend it as long as you don’t mind just a little bit of shake.
