How to Install VanEssential Overhead Storage Cabinets
If you’re looking for a more flexible storage solution for your van conversion than permanent wood or metal cabinets, our new modular system is for you. Designed to provide you with ample overhead storage space, these soft-sided cabinets ensure your gear is organized and out of the way yet easily accessible. Cabinets are universally sized to accommodate most vans and DIY solutions. We maximized storage space on every inch of them by including mesh pockets on the sides/bottom, a zippered pocket on the inside of each door, interior dividing shelves for added organization, and multiple exterior daisy chains for bungee or carabiner compatibility. Each cabinet arrives flatpack, and pops into place once assembled with included dividers. Mounts with L-track (not included) by sliding our included bolts into place, aligning through our proprietary oval holding rings and tightening the knob for secure storage. Once the cabinet is in place it won’t move until you want it to. Each oval holding ring has 2 inches of leeway to accommodate DIY builds and track position in the van.
Available in Three Sizes

36″ Cabinet: 36″ Wide, 16″ Tall and 14″ Deep

Missing hardware
Great product. Needed it for a trip leaving tomorrow and no hardware included to mount. Pretty choked as we are leaving in morning and arrived today. Canât purchase anything locally so kind of a waste really. Frustrated for sure. Very frustrated.

After only about 3 zipper strokes, the stitching came undone that retains the zipper (on upper side) on the pocket located on the bottom of the cabinet. This was a manufacturing quality defect. Without the stitching the zipper can’t operate however the pocket is still functional. I just can’t close it off. This was disappointing because there are six mesh pockets on the bottom, but only one pocket with a zipper. I was happy to have the zipper, because I figured I could put things in there securely, but no more zipperð¢.
Otherwise I found this semi-rigid cabinet to be a great solution for a lightweight (15lbs) cabinet in my van. Rather than using expensive L-track mounting hardware intended by manufacturer, I used $10 worth of 6 ft cam Buckle tie down straps (4 straps) and strategically located carabiners on the MOLLE loops to retain it in my Ford Transit. L-track is expensive and it also requires quite a bit of work to mount it in the van. There would be no place to attach the L track without some other kind of features such as paneling or brackets.
