Just the right lack of comfort
You read that right. I’ve been using a sit-stand desk for a few years now, and notice all sorts of benefits from being more productive to having fewer back issues. I needed to replace an old stool for the sitting portion of my day, and originally bought an office chair. With the extra comfort, I found myself sitting far more, and soon felt my back and shoulders acting up, and my day seeming longer. I purposefully went looking for something that was tall enough to “perch” on, but not so comfortable I’d forget to stand up again. This stool fits the bill perfectly. By the time I’ve sat for 20-30 minutes, a new set of muscles is telling me they’ve had enough, reminding me to stand. I’m over 200lbs and despite using 5 days a week for 3 months, I have had no issue with the unit losing air or in any way deflating. The foot rest ring is also a great feature. I’m very pleased with this unit and would buy another in a heartbeat if needed.UPDATE: closing in on a year of using this stool 5 days a week, and have yet to refill or have any issues with the rubber. It’s been a really great addition to my office and I would recommend to anyone who needs a perch during the workday. Great product.

unhappy with deflating ones
Overall I really like the chairs but 2 out of the 5 I just order do not hold air and deflates within the hour.Had to change the review dissapointed as the 2 That got replaced and 1 of the 2 does not hold air and deflates also.So in total 3 out of the 7 chairs did not hold air. Not to pleased.

Great chair. Previously used the Gaiam backless ball chair, which I still love, but so did my cats (claws). After the 4th replacement ball, I decided to concede defeat. This chair is just great, it’s comfortable, I love that it’s adjustable & the added footrest is a nice addition. Glad I purchased.

This chair is just what I needed for the home office. It has saved my back, hamstrings and tight hips. The only thing I had to get used to was a few muscles in the nether regions that hadn’t been activated before.

This came to me with split in the rubber..we repaired it because I didn’t want to send it back 5 months later another slit along the edge of the rubber which connects to the seat..we can not repair and I want a new stool or my money back….BIG DISAAPOINTMENT

I really like the idea of this chair. It combines all of the features I was looking for. Including the locking wheels but Iâll get to that in a moment. Iâm using it and enjoying it. There are a few improvements I must suggest. Many have spoken about the wheels locking up. I tend to sit with my feet resting on the wheel, so I keep unintentionally locking the wheels. Thatâs the only reason they lock, they donât lock on their own. Then the unlocked ones will still roll but The chair will not roll as smoothly anymore so you have to reach down and unlock them. Not a big deal really. . I work with a lot of paperwork so Iâm moving my body in a circle, 360* degrees practically the whole time Iâm at my desk. As another poster suggested, I will be replacing the wheels with rollerblade wheels that they suggested. I purchased them but they have not arrived yet. Keep your old locking wheels! As for the comfort and health factor of sitting in a chair of that nature, I filled the air once and have not had to refill it in about two weeks. Seems not to leak. In fact, the seat seems a little too firm and I might let out a little bit of the air to achieve a little more bounce. Iâm hoping that will soften it up a little because thatâs important for my spinal condition. Perhaps you could develop soft, Medium and firm options? Also, I love the fact that itâs on a hydraulic that goes up to, I believe, 33 inches. That means it can easily be used to stand and work, or just to lean on it. I recommend grabbing your laptop and moving it to a taller desk ( kitchen counter bar for instance) and stand there while you work for about 15 minutes an hour. You will want to lean on it. Thatâs the reason you are gonna want those locking wheels back. So donât get rid of them if you change them out – you might want to put them back on just for standing situations. The lowest height – I donât recall the measurement for it – but it is just a little too high for a regular desk height, but I can get by. That could just be my set up, who knows, but I donât think so – itâs pretty standard height. I have a desk with a pullout tray drawer for keyboard. I donât use it for that but just to sit at the desk alone and write while in the chair is a little high at its lowest setting. It works very smoothly though and raising and lowering it is breeze. If it continues to work out well and I can get the seat to soften a little bit, I may buy a second one for my workbench in the garage.Update: I put the roller blade wheels on and love it. However, they raise the lowest height by about an inch, which is pretty high for a regular desk. This chair is the one that raises up for standing, so its low point might be a bit higher than the regular chair. Any taller and it wouldn’t work for me, but it just makes it. Moreover, they are fast so be careful!

I LIKED THE IDEA OF HAVE A REMNAT OF A EXERCISE BALL TO SIT ON LIKE A STOOL TO HELP WITH MY SCIATICA. I DID NOT LIKE THAT THE FEET REST DID NOT EXTEND OUT ENOUGH TO BE COMFORTABLE. THE SEAT WAS ALSO UNCOMFORABLE. I LET SOME OF THE AIR OUT BUT IT JUST WASN’T HELPFUL. NOTE: I THINK IT MAY WORK WELL FOR A SMALL PERSON.

I had an original Gaiam balance ball chair for 10+ years and only had to replace the ball once. I used it daily for a job working 40-60 hrs/wk. Only just recently had a leg crack and would no longer hold the wheel. Still works great as a stationary chair though. Ball still in great condition. When I was shopping for a replacement chair for work, I was so excited about this. All the benefits of the ball chair I loved, from a brand I trusted, but I was also able to adjust the height to accommodate my sit-stand desk. So much more flexibility. Unfortunately, less than13 months after I purchased it, the chair split right along the base and will no longer hold air. I tried a patch designed for boats on the first split, but it just split again a couple inches from the original. Absolutely frustrated with the quality. Unlike my other chair, I can’t just replace that part. Because I bought through Amazon instead of directly from Gaiam, I have no recourse with Gaiam. I do not recommend this product.

The chair is very comfortable and worked well for several months until the base started making noises when gliding . Donât see anything that has broke so not sure why the noise started
