lights barely work…
 I was so excited for this mirror but the lights barely work…I did buy a used and “Amazon checked” version so I expected a couple minor scratches but the (lack of) light it admits is just goofy.In all my photos the lights are ON and the buttons do not work.

This was a nice modern upgrade for our powder room.. We like that this can be used with a plug, or as we have it – hardwired. When the wall switch is activated, the light comes on after 0.5sec delay at the same settings as previous. I would not have it as the only light in the room.If exact high is important I would check the mounting holes carefully… it seems 1/2 inch or so lower than I had expected compared with the holes as I had positioned the template. Perhaps this is because it rests on the brackets and sinks down? Also, I needed a washer on one side to bring the bracket an additional 1/32″ off the wall for easier installation… but this could be because my electrical socket isn’t totally flush with the wall.

The product description isn’t very clear on this important point. Yes, the mirror retains the last color temperature and brightness setting you were using even if completely disconnected from power such as when connected to a switch. It also immediately turns on to those settings when power is restored. This is key to this being a useful mirror since you can chose to have it turn on with a switch. No need to also press the power button on the mirror. You can also opt to only have it come on with the button on the mirror if it is wired direct to power.I decided to set this up with a recessed outlet in the wall behind the mirror. The built in space behind the mirror plus the recessed outlet allows a plug to be used without clearance issues. I also decided that I wasn’t sure if I always wanted it to come on with the switch since I also have a vanity light above the mirror or for it to be controlled by the front button only. I installed the recessed outlet as a “split outlet”. The top plug is tied to the vanity light and switch. The bottom outlet has constant power. If I change my mind on how I’d like the mirror to operate I can just move the plug to the appropriate outlet.It looks stylish in my limited use so far and operates good. The only thing I might ding it on at this point is the brand label displayed on the mirror under the power button circle. It isn’t huge lettering but shouldn’t be on a mirror. How many mirrors advertise the brand on the front? It’s small, so not a deal breaker by any means, but I’d rather it not be there.
